ReplyDeleteI realized that sometimes are sentences are really boring and we don't even realize it! I am glad that the visiting author taught us that even if we just change one word the sentence will be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better! THANK YOU VISITING AUTHOR!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am going to change how a charecter does, talks, thinks and many more into my spicy words!
ReplyDeleteI think our visiting author helped me really think really deeply about how essays work and what essays are really about. What I am going to change as a writer is thinking about the way my words go into a sentence I am writing. Why, is because to make my readers focus on what I am trying to show them.
ReplyDeleteI think the visiting author really helped change my attitude towards essays from scared to ready and confident. I think she also helped my sentences from boring and dull to hooking and sharp. THANK YOU LOTS!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat were some of your thoughts following her talks?
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts were when she talked about how she said the girl walked up the road i thought how can we change this its to hard but then when a girl said "How about the girl strolled up the street" then i thought mabey this wosn't so hard and i just relized that the whole sentace changed to a awsome cool and more exiting sentance!!!!!
I mean sentence
DeleteWhen the visiting author came she told us the story The Roses In My Carpets. Her sentences were thoughtful and were really big and a bit deep which can help me in my essays unit by making my sentences more big to make the sentences less boring, kind of like when you write a fantasy story and you want the reader to really enjoy it. Our visiting author was very inspiring in what she does in life.
ReplyDeleteI thought the main idea of writing books was just get an idea and write it. But my whole view of books and writing has seriously changed. And also, I really didn't get what essays really were, but now I totally get it!
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteI learned that your essay will be more interesting if your essay has interesting words and I also learned that the most important word in a sentence is the verb.
ReplyDeleteThe Visiting author helped me get a better idea of how essays work and how you can turn a plain and boring sentence a lot more better. I will change myself as writer by making my writing stand out and revise more often. I thought Rukhsana Khan was really right that violent video games are bad and imagine that you're that team that gets beaten up, 'cause that's what happens in some places in real life.

I think the visiting author did a great job of explaining to us hoe to write an essay, it helped me a LOT. I also thought it was very interesting that she told us how to make a sentence more powerful.
ReplyDeleteI liked how the visiting author explained what makes an essay interesting and I think she did a good job of explaining and showing examples of what she meant
ReplyDeleteI used to just write. But now I see that if you change the words to more juicy ones then it will make your writing a whole lot better! I also learned that changing the syntax of the sentence can make a big difference! After she came, writing is a whole lot easier for me!
ReplyDeleteI learnt that by changing the syntax you can change the whole meaning and focus of the sentence.
ReplyDeleteFor example "The woman gave us shirts when leaving the party".Or
"When leaving the party the woman gave us shirts".
